Address and Phone Number

There are many students who do not yet have their phone number and address memorized. This is a very important for all children to know. Next week Friday, each student will take a test where they will need to write their address and phone number. Please work with your child on memorizing these things. If there are several phone numbers for your household, please have your child memorize the one they should call if there is an emergency.

MAP Testing

Today the students took the first of their last MAP tests.  All Cudahy elementary students third grade and older take the MAP tests three times each year; once each in fall, winter, and spring.  We use these results to help us to gauge student progress in math, reading, and language arts.

Today we took our reading test and the students did very well.  The next test, math, will be given on Thursday. 

What's New for Today

The students have spent the last several days working on Word Choice and learning what constitutes "good" versus "poor" word choice.  Today, they started to put the lessons into practice by writing a paragraph(s). 

The paragraphs' topic is very general, they are to write a story about anything, but they need to use the following words: tornado, flashlight, and lawnmower.  When grading this paragraph, I will be assessing their word choice as well as organization. 

Their science test is tomorrow, be sure your child studies.

The only homework for today is to complete a two-sided division sheet.
